Astrophotography

For this project, I decided to expand my knowledge with astrophotography. I started this project by going out and taking photos of the stars. When I was done taking photos, I imported them into Lightroom to edit them. Something that I wanted to improve on was the way I edited the photos. Some of the things that I have learned through this project was to always shoot my photos in raw. Raw is the type of file format photos are taken in, and they contain more information to get a higher quality edit. I also have learned what camera settings to shoot on and have come closer to my perfect astrophotography shot.

Understanding Scale and Proportion

In this project we talked about defining scale, proportion, characteristics of foreground middle ground and background, as well as some tools we found useful in photoshop. you must understand the scale of something when placing something into an image. proportion relates to a part of a subject and their size. the foreground is what is closest to the viewer in the photo the middle ground would be the thing in between the background and foreground. the background would be the farthest thing away from the viewer. the tool we used most is the quick selection tool.

Photoshop tutorials

In the first tutorial, we did change the eye color. To change the color of the eye, you must make a selection around the eye and then change the hue and saturation to get the color you want. For this example, I changed the blue eyes to green.

Art History: Art as communication

  1. Yah I do think that I have met some of the requirements for the project. I felt a little lost and confused on somethings but on other things I feel good about. Some of the things I feel good about being that yah art can be used to communicate and tell stories. An example of a time where art has been used as communication is cave art some people used them to tell stories of hunting and animals. Their handprints are used as a sort of signature.

  2. Art is something that is created through creativity and imagination that is beautiful in the end through the viewer's eyes and creator of the art.  Art can evoke emotions through the viewer. Art can encompass a diverse range of activities and creations that have been created. There are different types of art you can have the art of people and art of landscapes.

  3. Context and content both affect the way the photo is portrayed. Photos can be inaccurately portrayed and go away from what the photographer was trying to do. The context of the art can change the photo entirely. When someone asks what one of my photos is off I let them come up with the answer I also don't like to put names on my artwork for that same reason.

  4. Context can affect how art can be interrupted and seen. The context of the cave art is important the stories that they were trying to tell with there drawings of animals that some don't even exist today. Some things change with time, and we have to understand that something from 5 years ago could mean something different than it does today.

Because I was out of town for this project, I did some things a little differently. Instead of tracing an image that I drew I traced an image in illustrator that I found from online.

Letter Portrait Project

To create the first project we started by taking photos of onje4cts that look like letters. We were asked to take three pictures of each letter. When we gathered our images together, we placed them all into one document. When the images were in the document, we sized them to fit and then feathered the edges to make them a bit softer when we completed that we then added a background to the image and then place3d some sort of filter over the image, that then completed it, so we exported it as a JPG and a PNG.
